Merchants urge residents to spend $150 monthly in town

The past year has not been a great one for small-business owners, and those in the Park Cities are no exception.

But some business owners are trying to take matters into their own hands. In the Plaza at Preston Center, Jay Finegold of Kid Biz is spreading the word about the 3/50 Project, a Minneapolis-based movement that encourages people to spend $50 a month at three of their favorite locally owned shops.
